Newton Electrical Contractors, LLC is currently seeking skilled Professional Electricians, Electricians Apprentice, Electricians Helpers with a minimum of four years’ experience and Electrical Helpers that are interested in learning the electrical trade. We are an independent electrical company serving Metro Atlanta and surrounding counties. Electrician Applicants should possess working knowledge of commercial, residential, and industrial electrical systems, be self-starters, self-motivated, and be able to work both independently and part of a team. Electricians should possess their own tools & mode of transportation (a truck+). Bilingual, Spanish speaking applicant a plus! Must be a U.S. Citizen w/valid GA Driver's License, Clean DMV record a plus, and be able to pass a background check and drug test.
All Applicants must be able to:
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
Fasten small metal or plastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
Create and complete work orders and invoices.
Electricians Apprentice & Helper Positions
All applicants must be willing and able to learn how to:
Must be a high energy, motivated, self-starter that is eager and willing to learn the electrical trade.
Assist Electrician in installing and repairing wiring, fixtures, and equipment for facilities
Supplies Electrician with materials and tools, using hand trucks, or by carrying material.
Measures and cuts pipe conduit to specified length, using steel tape and hacksaw.
Threads conduit ends, using pipe threader, and connects couplings and conduit fittings, using wrench.
Fabricates conduit support brackets from strap iron strips, using hacksaw, shaping dies, hammer, and punch.
Secures brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pulls wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals.
Strips insulation from wire ends, using wire stripping pliers.
Ties or screws wires to terminals for subsequent soldering.
Performs other duties as assigned
